This is by far one of my favorite photos from the trip.
I was usually up before anyone else in the house while I was there. Every morning I would wake up and this was the view out of our bedroom window. The boy (the son of a police officer) would walk on the roof studying for nearly 2 hours as soon as it started to get light. Then he would go down to the main floor of the house clean up and goto school for the day.
I was highly impressed with both his devotion and discipline to be able to do this. Not sure of his name and I don't have a better shot of just him but I will surely remember him.
These children in the photos are in need of many things. If you are interested in helping or would just like more info please leave a comment to that effect and I will get back to you or email me at nedens @ gmail.com (be sure to remove the space before and after the @). Children in the free school can be sponsored for $25 a month which gets them 1 good meal a day (for some the only meal they will eat), a uniform, and school supplies. So as you all take a look at this series please consider helping.
I really appreciate everyones comments. They are a great encouragement to me. Thank you!

Fabulous and powerful photo. The dark colors, the clouds in the sky, the silhouette, the barbed wire, the small boy against the dawning light. Very well done.

Superbe et très fort. Le ciel est magnifique! Les barbelés en contre jour donne un effet dramatique à cette photo.
