PersistancePosted by Nick Edens (Toledo, United States) on 9 January 2008 in People & Portrait. Ok I have to be honest I really don't like this picture. But the story behind it is what I like. As we were meeting with the kids from yesterdays photo this old lady came up the mountain with her son/grandson (not sure which). She was very persistent that she wanted her photo taken. She asked and asked and asked. I took some with her in them but she wanted one with just her and her son. She was standing with her back to the sun so the first shot was nothing but a big shadow on her. So I had to pop the on camera flash for this one. Once I took her photo the lady went back down the mountain. It was almost as if she wanted someone to remember her in a photo. So I am posting this as sort of a tribute to this lady who so desperately wanted her photo taken. These children in the photos are in need of many things. If you are interested in helping or would just like more info please leave a comment to that effect and I will get back to you or email me at nedens @ gmail.com (be sure to remove the space before and after the @). Children in the free school can be sponsored for $25 a month which gets them 1 good meal a day (for some the only meal they will eat), a uniform, and school supplies. So as you all take a look at this series please consider helping. I really appreciate everyones comments. They are a great encouragement to me. Thank you!
